What is The Heart of Texas Scrapbook Club?
In October 1999, seven Austin area scrapbookers met at the Will Hampton Branch of the Austin Public Library in Oak Hill. We formalized the club and chose the name, The Heart of Texas Scrapbook Club. From these timid beginnings the club grew through email contacts, our quarterly newsletter and word-of-mouth. By December 2000 the club had over 100 members. Many years later our reputation for fun and reasonably priced crops helped our membership grow to over 500 members from all over Texas and beyond!
The Heart of Texas Scrapbook Club is a non-profit community service organization. We provide opportunities for scrapbookers to get together and scrapbook while supporting a variety of charitable causes with our talents, donations and creative energy. Membership is always free and open to the public!
Charitable Donations
Over the years, the Heart of Texas Scrapbook Club has raised over $35,000 in charitable donations for many different charities in over 40 separate events! All of our donations come from our weekend retreat and one-day crop fees and retreat silent auctions. Way to go, ladies!
Some of our past charities include the following: Susan G. Komen Foundation, Pregnancy Loss Support Group, Anderson Mill Baptist Academy, Southwest Transplant Alliance, Giving Market Food Pantry, various hosting elementary school PTAs, Habitat for Humanity, American Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, American Lung Association, Make a Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Children's Miracle Network, American Red Cross, ARC of the Capital Area, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, Loaves and Fishes Mobile Ministry, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Go Red For Women, Open My World-Therapeutic Horse Riding Center, Lighthouse Hospice, Autism Speaks, Heart House, Lupus Foundation, Project Princess, and Helping Hand Home for Children, Austin Dog Alliance, RIDE of Austin.
